Desktop Pimping

My friend Henry inspired me to pimp my desktop recently. Basically, desktop pimping is as Xzibit describes in, To Pimp Anything: Anytime, Anywhere, “Customizing the desktop of a computer or laptop to look like a hot ass ride.”
I couldn’t afford to get as fancy as some of the ones featured on deviantART but I did as best I could with just copy and paste. The end result features a new wallpaper, new application icons, new folder icons, and a fancy snap-to-grid feature for managing messy desktops.
Safari (blue dashboard), Photoshop, Firefox, iChat, UnRar (Apple Rainbow logo), Preview (Camera), TextEdit, and Downloads (Green arrow digger) all got new icons.
I have to admit, moving the dock from the bottom of the screen to the left side hurts the aesthetics of the beautifully designed 3D-dock interface, but it’s just much more convenient. The left-side orientation is just more natural. If only Apple could give the left side it’s own 3D eye-candy…this desktop would be bedazzling.
This blurry orange-to-green wood wallpaper sure looks nice under dimmed lighting.

Hellz yeah! the aesthetics was actually improved in my opinion. The vertical tool bar is in sync with the wallpaper. Everything is so dayum vertical. Awesome. Also, the woody texture makes your mac more cozy. Yeahyuh!
Much love,
